(2/21/25) Broad Street Families: Important Message from Dr. Bitz
UPDATE - 10:15 a.m. (2/21/25)
Dear Broad Street Elementary School Families,
We are writing as a follow-up to the email sent at approximately 9:40 a.m. today regarding the residential gas leak in the neighborhood around Broad Street. Mechanicsburg Fire Department has secured the residential leak and has taken extra precautions together with the gas company to test the air throughout our school. They have since given the all-clear and, as of approximately 10:15 a.m., our Broad Street staff and students have safely returned to the building.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this precautionary evacuation. As always, the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. We also want to extend our sincere appreciation to the first responders in our community, whose swift response ensured the safety of our Wildcat community.
If you have any questions, please contact the school office.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Andy Bitz
Superintendent

Fall Athletic Wrap Up
With our talented and hard-working student-athletes, a terrific coaching staff, and the support of the administration, the Board of School Directors, and our community, our fall athletic teams have experienced unprecedented success. It is believed to be the first time in school history that all eight fall programs qualified for PIAA District III competition.
