(5/29/25) Commencement Update

Dear Students and Families of the Class of 2025,

As we look ahead with excitement to commencement, we have continued to monitor the forecast closely.  The outlook for Friday, May 30, has remained consistently bad, with rain expected throughout the day and evening.  Saturday, May 31, also presents weather throughout. However, we are encouraged that Sunday, June 1, currently offers the most favorable conditions, with a strong likelihood of clear skies and safe weather.

With that in mind, we are pleased to confirm that Commencement for the Class of 2025 will take place on Sunday, June 1, at 1:00 PM at Memorial Park Stadium. We are making this decision to try and provide a greater degree of certainty to you as families, rather than risk multiple reschedules across the weekend.

Gates will open at 12:15 PM.

Graduates should arrive at 12:15 PM and report to their assigned areas outside the stadium to line up.

Reminder:  Family seating is assigned and arranged in proximity to student seating to ensure a shared experience.

We are thrilled to come together to celebrate the achievements, dedication, and bright futures of our Class of 2025.

With Wildcat Pride,
Dr. Andrew Bitz

(2/21/25) Broad Street Families: Important Message from Dr. Bitz

UPDATE - 10:15 a.m. (2/21/25)

Dear Broad Street Elementary School Families,

We are writing as a follow-up to the email sent at approximately 9:40 a.m. today regarding the residential gas leak in the neighborhood around Broad Street. Mechanicsburg Fire Department has secured the residential leak and has taken extra precautions together with the gas company to test the air throughout our school. They have since given the all-clear and, as of approximately 10:15 a.m., our Broad Street staff and students have safely returned to the building.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this precautionary evacuation. As always, the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. We also want to extend our sincere appreciation to the first responders in our community, whose swift response ensured the safety of our Wildcat community.

If you have any questions, please contact the school office.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,
Dr. Andy Bitz
Superintendent
